Are you a woman experiencing any of these symptoms?

  • Nausea
  • Bloating
  • Fullness
  • Pain

These are symptoms of DYSPEPSIA that may occur during or after eating.

What Does Dyspepsia Mean?
The word dyspepsia describes a recurrent discomfort or pain that may occur in or around the stomach area. Discomfort may include early sense of fullness with eating, bloating, indigestion, feeling of excessive fullness following a meal, nausea, or vomiting.

What Causes Dyspepsia?
Unfortunately, there is no definitive cause for dyspepsia, although, researchers have identified several factors that may contribute to the condition. Some contributing factors include:

  • improper ability of the stomach to propel food into the rest of the gastrointestinal tract
  • increased perception of pain and discomfort within the stomach

How Is Dyspepsia Diagnosed?
The diagnosis is made based on the complete analysis of the patient's medical history, a physical exam, and the results of appropriate testing. The tests may include:

  • Blood testing
  • Ultrasound
  • Upper Endoscopy (investigation of the stomach with a fiberoptic tube)

Do Similar Symptoms Indicate Other Conditions?
Yes. There are many digestive disorders and factors that produce symptoms similar to dyspepsia. These include:

  • Peptic Ulcer Disease
  • Gallbladder Pain
  • IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)
  • Stomach Cancer
  • Reactions to certain medications
  • Food allergies or intolerances
